Before humans die, they write their last Will and testament, give their home and all they have, to those they leave behind.  If, with my paws, I could do the same this is what I'd ask....
To a poor and lonely stray I'd give:

My happy home.
My bowl and cozy bed, soft pillow and all my toys.
The lap, which I loved so much.
The hand that stroked my fur and the sweet voice that spoke my name.

I'd will to the sad, scared shelter dog, the place I had in my human's loving heart, of which there seemed no bounds.

So when I die, please do not say "I will never have as pet again, for the loss and pain is more than I can stand.

Instead, go find an unloved dog, one whose life has held no joy or hope and give MY place to HIM.

This is the only thing I can give...
The love I left behind.

Coastal Carolina Boston Terrier Rescue - Prospective Applicants

To Our Prospective Adoption Applicants,

Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescued Boston Terrier. CCBTR is an all-volunteer organization specializing in the rescue, rehabilitation, and forever adoption of Boston Terriers from the eastern and coastal regions of North Carolina. CCBTR welcomes adopters from North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and surrounding areas. Applicants outside the above stated areas may adopt if safe transport can be arranged, but note that we do not commercially air-ship or cross-country ground transport our dogs. We currently do not have a facility or location where the dogs in our foster program can be visited. Our rescued Boston Terriers are fostered in private volunteer homes.

Please read the preadoption screening information and adoption application carefully and answer the questions thoroughly. Your truthful answers will help us understand your unique environment and family dynamic. Inquiries about specific dogs will be addressed after your adoption application has been processed and approved. We make every effort to keep our website current and promptly remove dogs that have been adopted. If you see that a dog in which you were interested has already been adopted, please don’t despair. Wonderful Boston Terriers come into CCBTR regularly and we will work diligently to match you with just the right dog. We receive many inquiries weekly and may be unable to respond to every correspondence individually. If you have difficulty filling out our adoption application, email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and we will assist you.

The first step in the adoption process is a review of your application. If your application is approved, the second step is a phone interview. The third step is a home visit by a CCBTR volunteer; we will work with you to arrange a convenient day and time. Our volunteer will meet with your family at your home, review your application for completeness, and provide any assistance you may need to prepare for the new addition to your family. The entire adoption approval process can take two or more weeks, depending on your location and availability, and the availability of volunteers to process your application and conduct your home visit. Once approved, additional time may be required to select the right dog for your family.

We strongly encourage you to pick up your new Boston Terrier from its foster home. Foster families are a crucial part of any rescue organization. They open their hearts and homes to dogs in need and provide safety and stability, veterinary care, training, and love. They form loving attachments with their foster dogs. Your willingness to make the trip and meet the foster family is beneficial to all parties involved.

Our adoption fee is $400.00 for dogs under 1 year old, $350.00 for dogs 1 year to under 7 years, $250.00 for dogs age 7 and 8, and $150.00 for dogs 9 years and older. All dogs receive a complete veterinary exam, microchip, vaccinations, altering, and heartworm test prior to adoption.

We are dedicated to finding forever homes for our rescued Boston Terriers and ask for your patience in allowing us to find the right dog for your home.

We look forward to working with you!
